About the Project
Learn about the UX/UI Design process while creating our own podcast application!
Project Objectives
- Go through the different stages of the UX/UI process
- Create a podcast application
The Ideal User
After conducting my user interviews, I discovered that users want a simple, straightforward interface with offline access and the ability to download their desired podcast episodes. They want to view information about the selected podcast and receive a reminder to download their episodes before taking any trips. Their biggest pain point was ads disrupting their episodes.
The Customer Journey
To attract the right people to download and use my podcast application, considerable time was spent exploring how people find apps. It explores their search process, thoughts, and whether the app met their requirements.
User Flow
The user flow helps determine all possible scenarios for how users would interact with an app and gives a rough idea of how many pages need to be designed. The scenarios range from first-time to returning users, outlining the possible actions they could take while keeping in mind the pain points and the ideal experience.

Branding Identity
Logo
When working on the logo, considerable time was spent researching podcast logos to see what's already been done. The most common elements involve a mic and headphones as the primary elements, with sound waves in some logos as well. To differentiate myself, I created a circle with a play button at the center, but turned it into a speech bubble as a podcast primarily involves dialogue between one or more people. I then added speech waves to add to the idea of listening to what people say.
